Kayla has 8 years’ experience in the hairdressing industry. Kayla started out pursuing a career in graphic arts at Mohawk College. She realized her visual arts talent was more practical than being behind a computer. She then enrolled in the hair design program at a local hair college in her hometown Kitchener, Ontario. It was then where she found her true passion in hair. After being certified and working in various hair salons to find the one which fit best with her new passion of hair styling she was recruited and placed behind the chair at Tonyc Studio, where she stayed updated and educated in the latest trends of cutting, coloring and styling.

After two years of learning, exploring, attending training and loving what she was creating, she wanted more to offer her clients. Kayla loved how much she lightened up all her clients days by making them feel beautiful, this reflected off her professionally and she was offered a position at Sephora Beauty Make-up and Cosmetics as a part time make-up associate a side her full time position at Tonyc Studio. From there she was sent to Toronto for basic make-up training at the Sephora University, which she still practices today on herself and clients in the salon.

Wanting to further her career and explore opportunities of hairstyling and make-up in the Fashion, Music and T.V industry as well as wanting to get involved with competitions, Kayla made her way to the big city of Toronto! She came aboard the Salon Y team as a Junior Stylist in September 2016 and has since excelled to senior stylist with her strong skills, ambition and drive. She has now been recruited by one of Toronto’s top hair salons – Salon Daniel. Working with one of L’Oreal Professional’s portfolio artist and ambassadors – Daniel Fiorio, she is looking forward to building, growing and being perfected in her craft to her fullest potential as a versatile stylist, and all that Salon Daniel can offer.

Kayla has been training with L’Oreal Professional since 2014 and has just recently been hired on part time as an Artistic Educator, teaching classes showing off seasonal ‘It Looks’ to salons all over the city and helping out with the Rendezvous and Pop up hair shows in Toronto and other cities of Ontario. She also worked with Marvel Beauty School when she was in Kitchener teaching classes to new talent and has volunteered her services in various charities. Kayla’s contagious smile and positive attitude are enough to light up a room and are two personality traits which she says have been assets in her a career.
